1924
Vincenzo Milani takes over a small wood turnery and starts producing wooden parts for the textile sector
1960 / 1980
The second generation of the family creates T.a.m.i.l. snc – Torneria Articoli Minuteria in Legno – and purchases equipment and plants to “mechanise” manufacturing and expand production to provide items for fashion accessories, model making, toys, objects for the home and office, decorations, knobs and handles.
1990 / 2010
The third generation continues to invest in technology and training, further diversifies production to produce high quality wooden parts and gains many new customers in Italy and abroad. The next step in leveraging its experience is to obtain FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council™) certification for the company by following responsible production policies. In 2002 the company also registers the milaniwood.com® brand to launch a new business model: in addition to its trade manufacturing for third parties, the company now adds its own line of wooden games and objects, handling everything from design to production in-house.
2010 / Today
The fourth generation enters the company and close ties are developed with the Milan Polytechnic, trade associations, consultants and designers in the industry. Part of this process focuses on acquiring the design know-how to develop a catalogue of wooden toys and sell them through partners and e-commerce.

Our games are not only designed to be fun and educational, but also design pieces that double as furnishing accessories. The games really are for the whole family, entertaining children and appealing to adults. Each milaniwood design merges aesthetics with an entertaining, educational side. The games are made using wood from forests that are managed to preserve biodiversity and the rights of the people who work there (FSC™ certification)
